Give us this day our daily bread

“Give us this day our daily bread”.
In the sermon on the mount, Jesus taught us not to worry about food n clothing n needs God the Father cares for us more than birds n flowers in the field. Rather we should seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added into us.
Therefore the daily bread is more than a daily supply of food.
“But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ” Luke4:4.
After having time with the woman of Samaria and told her of her life and offered to give her water of eternal life that she would not thirst again, Jesus was full and did not want to eat the food that his disciples had bought for him. While the disciples were wondering who have brought food to Him, Jesus said “But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”
Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” John 4:32-34.
Then Jesus also said “I am the bread of life”....”And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
“This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.” John6:35-58
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” John6:63.

Thus the 3 fold understanding of food are:
1. Daily bread is words that the Holy Spirit reveals n give to us to eat n make it is good for our spirit to enable our spirit to grow n be strong. It gives us life and these words will become the sword of the spirit to kill off satanic attacks n temptations as in Luke 4:4.
2. Our daily bread - food for the day is also to do the will of the Father - to touch someone’s life and do what God asks us to do in our time with Him.
3. Just as God fed his people with Manna in the wilderness travelling, Jesus becomes our Manna- daily bread - by His word as His word is spirit n life. Life will flow into us as we draw life from him- just as the branch of the vine draws food- nutrients n water from the vine. John15:
Apart from drawing life through His word by the spirit, we will have no food. This comes in an intimate relationship with Jesus as our Lord and Master.
Since we know how to care for ourselves daily with regards to eating n drinking for our bodily wellbeing, we should also care for our spirit daily and ask the Father for our daily bread. Else our spirits will be stunted and not grow. Going to conferences n hearing messages from videos n books n even Sunday sermons are like taking supplements for our bodies. However, we cannot grow n be strong n healthy without seeking God for our daily bread - we have to gather our own amount of “bread of heaven, the bread of heaven feed me till I want no more”(Hymn)-by spending time with the Father, with the Son Jesus n with the Holy Spirit daily.
Father I pray for sons n daughters - that each day they will have time with you - in Your Presence and ask for their daily bread - fresh revelations that will empower them, enable them to grow and be equipped with the sword of the spirit ( short sword for close body combat - machaira ) to kill the enemy’s attack n temptation.
I pray you to grant them the spirit of wisdom n revelation n open their spiritual eyes to see n spiritual ears to hear your word of spirit n life.
